Missouri laws your teen will be tested on
Missouri Seat Belt Law
Missouri requires all drivers and front-seat passengers to wear seat belts.
Missouri Speed Limits
Posted speed limits are the maximum legal speed. You must reduce speed for conditions.
Missouri DUI Law
Driving with a BAC of 0.08% or higher is illegal. Under 21, any detectable alcohol is a violation.
Missouri School Bus & Pedestrian Rules
Amber warning lights flash 500 feet before a school bus stops; when its red lights and stop arm activate, oncoming and following traffic must stop before reaching the bus. Yield to pedestrians in intersections and crosswalks, obey slower school-zone speed limits when lights flash or children are present, and stop when directed by a school traffic patrol member.
Missouri Move Over & Emergency Scenes
When approaching a stationary emergency vehicle displaying lighted red or red and blue lights, proceed with caution and, if safe, move into a lane not adjacent to it on a roadway having at least four lanes with not less than two lanes traveling in your direction. If changing lanes is unsafe or impossible, reduce your speed and maintain a safe speed for road conditions.
Missouri Right-of-Way Rules
At intersections, yield to legally crossing pedestrians, and when turning left, yield to oncoming vehicles going straight. At an uncontrolled intersection, yield to vehicles from the right; at a roundabout, yield to traffic already in the circle, bicyclists, and pedestrians in crosswalks.
